The holiday's this year were extra special with Zack. I cherish every minute I get to have with him. It's crazy what we take for granted when our loved ones are around every day. I'm not sure if this time was easier or harder than the first, but it wasn't fun. I cried, a lot. I think it was harder for both of us. The time that he was here just seemed to fly by. We sure had a lot of fun. I sure hope he gets to be done by July and not October this go round since he is up there now. I'm a hoping and a wishing!

Florida

We just ventured to Florida this past week and it was full of laughs! It started out a little shaky since Delta delayed our flight twice then cancelled it. Brit and I were somewhat in panic mode, but we luckily worked it out while the boys just hung out. We were able to switch carriers and made it there same day. Our condo was just beautiful and spacious. I'll highlight the wonderful and crappy parts. :)

Things we loved

*Vacationing with another couple (Brittnay and Shane) *The beautiful condo with the most AmAzInG bed *Florida weather- tropical and delightful *Seaworld, Busch Gardens, Island of Adventure, Universal Studios *The animals at Busch Gardens. It was a great variety of both thrilling rides and a fancy zoo. *Massage and Facial Spa Day with Brit while the boys went fishing, *Shopping in the outlets *The castle lit up at night, just magical *Clean parks and Friendly employees *Miniture golfing with tons of laughs *The time of year we went. It was perfect. There was no lines. (aside from Disney... agh!)

Things we could have lived without

*Flight issues getting there- THREE! delta cancelling, us airways computer not working for take off, and then having to circle a trillion time just upon arrival from some sort of landing issue. *Motion sickness- Just Shane and I had it.... good thing after day one we bought some darmamine and it worked! *Disneyworld- We really, really, really, really didn't like it. 1) it was crazy crowded 2) Cost a lot 3) Rode a total of 6 rides, all which were not worth it 4) Wait was nuts 5) And people were less friendly *Annoying people- I wanted to swat a lot of them. (mostly at disney :/) *Getting randonly ill at 3 am and wanting to puke, but couldn't.

Favorite Parks to Least Favorite: Busch Gardens, Island of Adventure, Seaworld, Universal Studios........... then clear far away Disneyworld.

All in all we really enjoyed the time in Florida and are okay with not going back for quite some time until we have kids and they are old enough to enjoy "big kid" rides. We plan to travel with Brit and Shane for years to come. It was a riot with them.

Halloween

The extent of my Halloween festivites consist of dressing up for the gym (GPP), trying to get a picture with Tule and her party collar, eating yummy homemade beef stew, and handing out treats to the little spooks. And nope, Zack still isn't home. Guess another week or so because of the craptastic weather in Alaska. I'm going nuts here!

Ah this man is coming home so soon! I can't wait! Wish I had a for sure date, but it's in the ballpark of about a week and a half ish... I miss him my hot little fisherman so much and can't wait to be with my best friend again! I love him with all my heart.

Girl's Weekend

Gracie came and spent "two sleeps" with me! She went to the PINK game at OHS where she looked darling in her pink to support breast cancer awareness. I took her home after the game. We hung out all weekend. Slept in, played with another little girl while I worked out at GppFit, went to lunch with Marci, birthday dinner for Liza's 16th, did crafts, colored, watched Shrek 4, stayed up way past both our bed times, did alittle shopping, went to Dolphin Tale 3d, ate lots of treats (she has a bigger sweet tooth than me), played with Tule, Read books, played "I can spell...", and just had a good ole time together. The cutest was on Saturday when Gracie came up to me and said, "Tory, Tule keeps following me, and she won't leave me alone. Whenever I sit down she sits right by me or when I'm walking around she is right here..." It was soooo cute to watch Tule tag along side her. Tule is just a sweetie and loves people. I just kept telling her Tule really liked her company and she needs to come back soon. Or maybe she needs a friend. ha! Loved having the little sweetie around.

I was fortunate enough to get a part time teaching position with Ogden High this year. I interviewed for it and didn't hear anything until three days before school started. They gave me a day to decide. It was a hard decision since it would mean half the salary and no benefits. Zack was so supportive and kept saying "just do it, you want to be teaching and I want you to be happy" and in my head I was thinking a million different things. I have never been happier! It was the best decision. Teaching is tough nonetheless. I have 2 classes this term and three next, but it has all the same prep work whether it is one or eight classes. I have 25 students in one class and 44, that's right, 44 students in another and have to share a classroom. Meh... They really do need a full health position, but ya know all the budget cuts it won't happen this year. I'll keep hoping. Go Tigs!

Tule loves every piece of it and every second spent out there, even if she likes to bark at birds, airplanes, and balloons flying in the air. The nut. I finally made it to Lake powell after 24 years. It was PERFECT! I loved it all! Probably the highlight of my summer (other than seeing Z). It was warm, very beautiful, and the compnay was a riot! I went down with the Birkinshaw clan's extended family. I thought it may be a little awkward with Zack not being there, but it was great fun. I wake boarded for the first time, went on the wave runners, went tubbing, went on scenic "tours,"ate yummy food, drank tons of water, sun bathed, and enjoyed the humorous little rugrats. Hopefully I'll get to back!Oh! And I came back a little Indian. Thanks Laurie and Mick!

Summer Fun

It seems I haven't posted for a while so I suppose I will. Summer has been full of family fun, especially with Tia and Gina's little critters. I just love them! They make me happy. We've been to Lagoon, Gma's pool, babysat at my house, Bountiful pool, and more!
I will be adventuring to Lake Powell for the first time next Thursday and cannot wait. I started counting down about a month ago and it is about here. It has been an eventful summer, wishing Zack could spend time with me, but it's been great. Oh! and I shall post pictures of our yard very soon. I got a beautiful patio set and the last part will be the cement for the patio done on Wednesday. Yipee, it's just been three years coming!

ALASKA!

Alaska is B-E-A utiful! It was quite chilly, but Utah prepped me for that! The best of all was just being with ZACK! Love that boy so much! We stayed in Anchorage for a few days, went to Seward, Soldotna, and Homer. Lots of driving, but pretty scenery. We saw eagles and a momma moose with two babies. Luckily no bears! They had me quite scared! We went to a wildlife conservation place, a sealife place, fishing, stayed in a gorgeous cabin, ate yummy food, relaxed, watched movies, played with the cutest boy- Carter, and my most favorite place was Homer, AK. I could possibly live (well just in the summer, guess the winter sucks) there. Anyhow only four more months and my love will be home for a few...

Oh what a crazy, fun year coaching. I learned so much about teenagers, mentoring, coaching, and myself. I was so proud of the journey they went on with me! I was so much fun seeing the girls develop as cheerleaders and ladies. I will miss my lovely senior gals, but look forward to another exciting year! Now if only I can get a darn teaching job! Man alive! I guess my Master's is in the works to start next month!

I'm so thankful for wonderful family and friends to help through this rough patch. Only one week down, but boy does it feel like months. It is crazy how much you can miss someone and crazy what the mind is capable of thinking! Z is doing ok. Just getting used to the hardwork and finding his place. They have been just prepping the ship for take off so I have been able to talk to him everyday. They ship out Thursday then no more talky talk for 10-14 days at a time. Hopefully I will get to go out there sometime. Thank you Mindi, Brooke, and Meagan for the great last four days! Loves to you~

This is is were my husband will be going for the next seven to eight months, March 1. (Kodiak, AK and Homer, AK)

He will be in tight living quarters on one of these with four other dudes. ew.

He will be commerical fishing for halibut and cod which amounds to extremely hard work and a hopeful payout. (similar to "The Deadlist Catch" but they aren't doing crab and is alittle less dangerous, but still dangerous)

So, what about me? This is what I will be doing. haha jk, we have been planning it for about about seven months, but it will be tough. keep his safety in your prayers
We have had so many mixed responses, but life's about risks & adventures and hope & love. Our feelings are as follows- Z is excited like a child on christmas morning and I'm nervous. Wish us luck and feel free to come have a sleepover with me in NSL at anytime ladies.

We headed off to Montana over the weekend to visit my great aunt Eleanor. We just love her and love her place. Zack and I will hopefully move to the out skirts of Missoula within ten years. It is just peaceful and has a sense of simplicity. We took along the two hulagans, which made it fun, exhausting, and funny.

Dance Impressions celebrated their 20th year and asked some of the first girls that traveled to NY to dance at their recital. Boy oh boy we practiced twice and I sure felt like an old lady! Ah! I was so sore the following day and had brusied knees. I guess we all still got it huh?? Pulling a triple and all! It was so fun! -I'm on the far left then center for the "little girls" part.

Tule Girl!

I was doing my normal routine- work, gym, home on Thrusday. I always expect my darling doggie to greet me at the door. It was unusual when I stepped in through the garage door and no Tule to greet me with excitement. I called her name and turned the corner to find our front door was open about a foot. I panicked and froze. I called her again and search and nothing. I was so worried and of course started crying and called Zack. He told me to call animal control, but they were closed. I couldn't do anything until the morning. I felt horrible. Zack rushed home and we drove around our neighborhood and nothing. So many things were going through my head, anyone would love to have her as a pet, she is just a doll and so loving.

Zack had let her out the front in the morning about 1o ish and then was putting things away in the garage, realized he needed to get to work, let her in through the garage and zipped off. He felt horrible.

Zack decided to leave a crack in the door in hopes if she was out there still she would find her way back. And low and behold she sneaked her head in that door and the stream of tears came down my face. This cute couple peeked their head in and explained that they went later in the day on their walk with their dog and saw her and no one was around and didn't want her to get hit so they took her home and spend the day with her. They just loved her. I'm sure she had a riot with their pooch. They decided to bring her back out in the evening when people would be home and told her to go home and she plopped down on our yard. It was nuts! And we are so thankful and lucky to live in a good neighborhood. We even made some new friends. It was the strangest thing! We know someone from above was looking out for us and our "child".

Last night we went to a private concert with Sportsman's Warehouse's CEO and VP. It was so much fun. We had a great dinner and watched Western Underground (Chris Ledoux old band) perform. Zack and I even got up and danced on the last song... so fun!

Christmas is always an exciting time of year! Zack and I had a wonderful one. This is our fourth Christmas together -second being married. We are just to very thankful for family and friends. It truly makes things worthwhile. We headed down to Salem to Callies house for Christmas Eve with the Birkinshaw's. It always is a good time. We exchanged gifts, ate, and mingled. We went to the Salem pond and saw the beautifully lit trees that scattered the pond. It was something! Christmas morning we slept in til ten! Love that. Exchanged gift with each other and then made the rounds. First to Zack's mom's then on to Daddy Birkinshaw's. We headed up north to my Grandmas and enjoyed the afternoon. It sure it fun getting together with everyone. Then lastly, we spend the rest of the evening and weekend up at my parents. The kids are so fun, we just love playing with them. Little Adian is my new best friend and I'm glad he warmed up to me. The kids had a riot with Zack. He was shooting them with some soft gun thing. Their little giggly voices yelling, "zack! zack! zack!" is sooo cute!
I got to see Lindsay and Roberts new buddle of joy. Drake is a cutie. Makes me want to have a little one..... but won't for awhile. It's just amazing to hear her experience! Heaven sent and perfect. Love you Linds!

Friday was the dreadful day. The past 2 months or so I'd been having horrible headaches which I believe was coming from my wisdom teeth. I scheduled the big day and got them yanked out. Luckily I didn't swell too much. This was day two. I spent the entire weekend up north with tlc from none better than my mommy and kidos. My left side was a lot more swollen from the upper one being up into my sinus or something like that. Anyway, I survived. The worst part- liquid diet. BOO!

I finally have something fun to blog about! The old cheer friends from the U got together for dinner in Sugarhouse the other day and boy was it good to see everyone! People were home for Thanksgiving so we finally got to see each other. I was so happy to see my favorite first roommate PAIGE! She is so cute and prego! The first to get wed then the first to be a mommy! Guess that makes me be the next in line to have one?!?!?! haha but that's not happening. :) -at least for now. I just love getting together and catching up on all our busy lives!

So my love went hunting up at their ranch for an entire week. I thought I was going to die without him. It was a long time to be away from him. I was getting lonely even with Tule baby there. Anyhow, Zack hiked for hours and hours and fell short for four days with no great leads. He was ready to be done but decided to head up to one last spot for a few hours early in the morning. He hiked his two hours to get to the spot and no more than two minutes passed by he saw a herd of cow elk and he knew there was a bull there. He could only see antlers and only had a small square to fire through and gave it his best. He thought he didn't hit it but heard two crashes figuring they were just the elk running through the branches. He waited as long as he could then he with excitement he say the first sight of blood. He waited again then he couldn't take it any longer and just a few steps after there it was. He must have gotten right in the heart to have dropped so fast. He had to leave his prize to get his friends to come up to help get it off the mountain. On his way off he was headed down a trail and right there in the middle of the road was a silver horse shoe. He knew his grandpa lead him to that elk and helped hm throughout that hunt. It was just really neat.

We went to Montana this past weekend! Boy it is sure beautiful! We love it! I would move there! We went up to see my great aunt Eleanor in Hamilton. We saw a lot of wildlife that got Zack excited for the hunts this month. We went to Missula and rode the infamous carousel. It snowed on the way home in Salmon ID, but what a relief it wasn't snowing back home! I would have cried!

It was Zack's 27th Bday on the 15th! What an old man! I decorated the house and tied balloons to Tule. It was so cute watching her run to the door and having him open the door to a face full of balloons. ha! My parents came down with Gracie and Max and we went to dinner at Texas Roadhouse. We headed out to Keys on Main with some of his friends from work. Such a fun place! Then Sunday we had a cookout with his family and played some Tennis at the park! What a fun time! Love you babe!

We went up to Jackson and went camping! So much fun! All the Birkinshaw Clan. We went river rafting which was a little terrifying for my first time, but very enjoyable and will do it again! We went up to Jackson Hole. What a darling little town. Reminds me of Park City. There were tons of people getting their last vacation in before back to school. We woke up at 4:30, drove for 5.5 hours, got to camp, set up, then decided to go to Yellowstone (we thought was only an hour away), drove 3.5 more hours one way, looked and the hot pots (one time deal -will never go again) then drove 3.5 hours back. So the total drive time for day one was 12 hours! I-Ei-I! It was fun though. Yellowstone- not so much but guess ya gotta see it.

For Father's Day we gave my dad and Zack's dad tickets to the Bee's game because we wanted to get my parents down here for some fun. It sure was! We just love them. We got hot dogs, beers, and ice cream. They were set.

Zack and I went on a fun, steep hike up by the golf course in Bountiful. It was a beautiful view of the Salt Lake Valley. No noise or hustle and bustle of our everyday scenery. It was fantastic. We saw three huge elk and some chucker. Zack was pumped.

Tule was getting so shaggy so we decided to shave her. It was such a chore and she practically hated it at the time. Now she loves it and enjoys going running with me a lot more. We just love her! She is the best doggie!

We also went up to the Birkinshaw's cabin by Oakley for the weekend. It is so beautiful and relaxing! We love it there. We went on a heck of a hike straight up the mountain, but we made it with only screaming calf muscles. Zack shot a little pot belly from the porch and it was hilarious because he was like, "I'll probably miss, its far away and this is a weak gun with no aim" and by golly he took it right down! ha! G-ma Birk cooked for us and just had a relaxing time. OH and of course Zack had to fish. Look at those rainbow trouts and the beautiful outdoors! We love summer!

We finally got a televison worth watching. We have been thinking about getting a tv and had saved for it so we got one from Zack's bro that gets them from a warehouse for cheaper than cost. We hadn't made the purchases but were talking about it. Then, I was on my way back from the gym and out of the blue went a different way home and just went into a furniture store for no reason at all. Here sat this tv holder thing that was meant to be in our house. It was a straggler and scram "buy me, I will make your house complete". So I did and it's lovely. :)

We headed to Cancun, Mexico for a week of pure paradise. It was amazingly fun! We snorkeled four times, went to Isla Mujera, Cozumel, drove a fun boat thru the jungle, went sailing -my favorite, charter fishing, floated down a river with mangrove, parasailed, ate, drank, relaxed and all this in the beautiful weather! We love it here, minus the humidity. I went running one day and died because I just was dripping with sweat! ew! Day one swimsuite was still wet on day seven! It was nuts! And here is all the pictures.... sorry sooo many! Had to let ya capture it all!

Graduation was super exciting. It seemed like yesterday I moved down here to the big, big city to cheer on the Utes and it zipped by. What great memories of Salt Lake. I guess I liked it enough to stay pretty close to it. It was a great experience. I'm sure I'll be back sometime before children come along to get my master's. Yay! Go Utes! I love my family and husband for their support! This way 10 times neater than high graduation. My cute friend Kelsey was in my degree and we were the greatest of friends.

Birthday time is always a lot of fun! We celebrated for the weekend and then some. My mom and sister with babies came down and we ate at Mimi's Cafe in Layton. Boy oh boy is that yummy! Gracie was a grumpy gal because we woke her up, man she is a tiger! The next day we ate with the Birkinshaw to celebrate mine and Gpa Romneys birthday. Zack and I headed to Bear Lake to a little resort for an overnighter and it sure poured the entire way up there. That crazy Cache Valley weather! We had a good time and the place was super nice. We just relaxed and watched Juno then played tennis the next day -it was beautiful.

Easter Weekend Fun

Easter weekend brought us a fun, relaxing time. We ventured down to St. George with the Birkinshaw clan. Aunt Laurie rented a house for us that fit 22 people with a heated pool and all. Of course Zack had to wake up at 5 a.m to go fishing down there, but he enjoyed that and I enoyed venturing into the final Twilight book. The girlies went and got pedicure and shopped while the boys went and played golf. The crappy part was that it was freezing until Sunday so when Sunday rolled around we all soaked up the sun and got fried. Ha! It was a good little trip and now I can't wait until May 22 for Cancun! Wahoo!

So this whole blogging is confusing. I don't want my posts above my picture! ah! So frustating. Anyhow it is kind of fun. Today was the first Sunday I've not had to work since January! How exciting! I'm finally done student teaching and my life is finally slowing back down. I was working full time (3-8 and sat/sun) on top of full time student teaching (7-2:30) everyday. It was stressful, but such a fantastic time! I loved it. I was teaching 10th graders and Viewmont High. What great kids they are! Now we are just job hunting and hoping for the best for next fall.

Last night we went to a flyfishing banquet for Zack's work. It had such good food. Yum! and I actually learned quite a bit about the sport.
